About The Urban Labs
The Urban Labs came about because we noticed a lack of communication between communities that should always be in conversation.
Corporations and communities want to listen to, learn from and engage with each another but neither side seems to know how.
We aim to help everyone speak about the issues, problems and goals in a language (the Lexicon®) we all share.
The Urban Labs brings a philosophy and platform to help businesses understand the growing diversity of today’s world. Together, we will engage in experiential learning in order to become more fluid across one other’s history and experiences and become more inclusive.
Malia Lazu ⧫The Urban Labs
Founder ⧫ @malialazu
With over two decades of experience building diverse culture in the political and civic space, Malia felt the diversity and inclusion industry was in need of disruption in the private sector. While at MIT, Malia launched a space for diversity research and development called The Urban Labs, which has emerged as a boutique multi-cultural agency helping corporations and institutions be more effective in their diversity and inclusion efforts. The Urban Labs platform, Lexicon, provides an authentic translation of a company's diversity goals and commitment to good business.
